BLOG RULES
What's a blog?
Blog is short for weblog. It's an interactive online journal, with the most recent entry on top.
What sort of things get posted on the Breaking Blogs?
Blog entries, which can be posted by anyone, include reports and articles from Internet surfers across China and around the world, as well as posts from CRI staff with a more personal perspective.
What's the point in launching Breaking Blogs?
Let you get up-to-date news and updates directly from our well-informed target audience and share inforamtion. We also encourage you to join in discussions at Talk China forum with other people interested in CRI Today.
Can I write anything I want?
We encourage you to stay on topic, and write or repost articles (Sources must be attributed); however, CRI staff reserve the right to remove or edit comments that are rude, derogatory, discriminatory, libelous, offensive, rumor-mongering or include inappropriate language. Normally we would not exercise such measures.
Can I change my blog once I've posted it?
No. Your blog is saved permanently to the site, indexed by various search engines and can be read by anyone. Think before you post.
Why are some words on the Breaking Blogs in bold letters?
These words are sometimes links to others pages. Clicking the bold words will take you to a new web page. We provide links to relevant stories, articles, or websites. However, CRI Today does not endorse and is not responsible for the content of external sites linked to and from the blog.
How do I find an old entry or thread?
All entries are categorized by date and can be found through our search engine.
I just posted my message and it didn't work?
Highlight the text you want to copy, put your cursor over highlighted text, right-click, select "Copy", insert your cursor where you want to paste, right-click, and select "Paste." OR highlight text, press Ctrl + C (copy command), Ctrl + V pastes highlighted text.
I always get a "Submission error" after I post?
This has to do with cookies, probably your setting is "Prompt before allowing cookies" and accidentedly you chose "Block cookies" Also, make sure your computer's time and date are set correctly.
Internet Explorer (IE) keeps a list of the sites where cookies are 'Always Allowed' or 'Always Blocked'. Click on 'Tools' (on top of IE page) select 'Internet Options', select 'Privacy', find the 'Edit' button on bottom of that page and click. In the list that comes up find "CRI Today", right-click and select 'Allow'. Sometimes it's better to just select 'Remove.'
Need to get the latest postings after finishing reading the thread?
Right-click and select "Refresh" this will bring the blog page up to the latest postings OR Refresh = F5 (meaning you press the F5 key)
