I:Please tell me a little bit about your present job.
A:My major is accounting, so I am w6?king as an accountant in the
Finance Department. I am very interested in my work. r especially
like to use a computer to do my work. Although I like my present
job, I want to look for a new job with opportunities to use English.
I have studied English for six years.
I:May I ask why you left the company?
A:I was a junior secretary for two years when I workedin the
company. My work was very simple, just typing, making copies,
booking tickets, etc. I want tofind a job which requires more
responsibility, so I left the company.
I:Why do you think you might like to work for our company?
A:I have been interested in computers since high school,and my major
was Computer Science when I studied in university. I know your.
company specializes in computers, and it is one of the largest
computer companies in the world, so I wish to have the opportunity
to apply my knowledge here.
I:What made you decide to change your job?
A:I am working in a small company where further promotion is
impossible. I am capable of more responsibilities, So I decided to
change my job. I’d like to find a job which is more challenging.

A:I can only say I enjoy some part of my job. But economically, it’s
rather unstable.
I:Have you been employed by a foreign companyjoint venture?
A:I have no experience working in a foreign campany or a joint
venture.

A:Yes, I have worked as a sales represent in the Shanghai Office of

A:I have had two years, experience work as a secretary in a joint
venture.Some people think secretarial work is not important in a

  A:Not yet. I originally planned to go abroad to study after
leaving college, but I couldn’t get a visa
  
I:Your resume says you have had one ~ S experience working in a
foreign representative office in Shanghai, may I ask why you left?
  A:I worked in a foteign rep. office for one year. However, I left
there two years ago because the work they gave me was rather dull. I
found another job which is more interesting.
I:Have you done any work in this field?
  A:Yes, I have worked in this field for four years. First, I worked
in an American company as a sales representative, then I transferred
to a Hong Kong company as a sales manager.
I:What kind of jobs have you had?
  A:I worked as a business coordinator in a foreign representative
office, then I transferred to a joint venture as a sales manager. So
I am familiar with the textile market in China.
I: What qualifications do you have that make you feel you will be
successful in your field?
  A: First ,I think my technical background is helpful. I have
enough knowledge to market the products of your company. Secondly, I
have studied for four months in a Marketing Training Programme with
satisfactory results. Finally, I have mastered the English Language.
These qualifications will make me successful in my career.
I: What have you learned from the jobs you have had?
  A: I have learned a lot about business know-how and basic office
skills. In addition ,
I learned at my previous jobs how to cooperate with my colleagues.
I:Can you get recommendations from your previous employers?
  A:Yes, I have brought them with me. Here they are.
I; What’s you major weak point?
  A:I haven’t been involved In international business, so I don’ t
have any experience, but I have studied this course in the
International Business Training Centre of the Shanghai Foreign
Service Company.
I: What are your greatest strengths?
  I know a lot about flow the Chinese economy works, and how
business is done here. Secondly, I speak English fluently. I have no
difficulty with language. And, I am a hardworker when I have
something challenging to do.
I: Please tell me about your working experience.
A: I have five years experience in the chemical industry since I
graduated from college. First of all I worked as an assistant
engineer in the No.1 Chemical Industry Co. Three years later I
transferred to ABC Chemict Industry Company. Now I am working in the
Sale Department of that company.
I:Does your present employer know you are looking another job?
A:No, I haven’t discussed my career plans with my resent employer,
but I am sure he will understand.

A:Yes, I like travelling. I am young, and unmarried.It’s no problem

A:Overtime work is very common in companies. I can work overtime if
it’s necessary, but I don’t think we will work overtime everyday.

department would you like to work in?
A:I’d like to work in the textile department if possible, because I
have been in this line of work for many years.

A:I think I would work here for long time if I like the job, and I
feel I am making progress in my work.

A:Yes. A secretary’ s work is routine work. I have worked as a

I:How do you feel about your family?
A:I have a warm and loving family. There are four of us. My father
is an engineer, my mother is a surgeon and my elder. sister is a
teacher. We help and take care of each other.. I am proud of my
family.
I:What is your father’s occupation?
A:My father Is a manager of an insurance company, He is very busy.
He likes his work very much.
I:Do you live with~your parents? Which of youY parants has had the
most profound influence on you?
A:Yes, I live with my parents. My parents teach me how to study, how
to work, and how to be a responsible citizen. My father has had the
most profound influence on me. He used to be a government
official.Now, he is the manager of a joint venture finance
corporation.
I: How big is your family?
A: There are only three people in my family. My father, mother and
me.
I: Do you spend much time talking with your family?
A: Yes, I like talking with my family. We share information. People
often say there is a generation gap, but I don’t think there is one
in my family. We all take time to talk with each other. In
particular, we all get together at dinner to eat and talk. Dinners
are very lively in my family.

A:My parents.

A: No, not yet. That’s why I am looking for a job.

A:Three years ago, when I was a senior student in university, I made
money and contributed to my family.At that time, I had a part-time

a garment factory.
