CANADIAN STUDIES DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
Canadian Studies Development Program (CSDP)
This program provides Canadian Studies Centers and Chinese scholars with the opportunity of organizing conferences/seminars on Canada, conducting research and academic activities, and publishing books related to Canada, therefore raising Canada’s profile, visibility and influence across China. This is a nation-wide competition once a year.
In addition, we believe that high quality of academic conferences / seminars / academic exchanges would greatly help to further promote future collaborative partnerships between Chinese and Canadian scholars (and their host organizations).
CSDP Guidelines
1. Eligibility: Open to
• Canadian Studies Centres across China;
• Teaching or research staff from Canadian Studies Centres;
• Individual scholars from a recognized institution of higher education in China (it is subject to the value of applications of this kind).
• A recognized Chinese education institution/organization
2. The Application Process
Step 1: Send proposal to the Academic Relations Officer at the Canadian Embassy before the deadline by April 30 each year.
Step 2: The proposal is to be reviewed by the Canadian Embassy and an independent Evaluation Committee
Step 3: The proposal recommendations will be submitted to the Foreign Affairs Canada in Ottawa for final approval
Step 4: An Agreement to be signed by the Counsellor and the project implementer. After the agreement is signed, project funds can be transferred to the implementing agency.
