2010年2月9日上午8时许,河南省档案局办公室主任电话通知我,让给国家档案局值班室回个电话,说有事情找我。当我回电话过去以后,工作人要了我的手机号码,告诉我:请保持电话畅通,在今天下午的某个时候有领导同志将和我通话。
下午3时许,我接到国家档案局馆长杨冬权同志从北京打来的电话,其通话内容有二:一是我邮寄给他和令计划同志(中共中央书记处书记、中央办公厅主任、分管国家档案局馆工作)的《加拿大国家档案图书馆珍藏》一书已经收到,他代表令计划同志和他本人对我进行问候,恰逢虎年前夕,顺便拜个早年;二是对《加拿大国家档案图书馆珍藏》一书在中国出版发行一事予以肯定和褒奖鼓励。
能够在中国盛大的传统节日之前,收到中国档案界最高行政长官的问候和褒奖鼓励,我个人认为这不仅是对我个人的问候,也是对全国档案工作者和中国加拿大研究会会员的问候,我不过是幸运者的代表之一。
2009年12月18日,全国档案局馆长会议在济南召开之前,我把在9月份出版的《加拿大国家档案图书馆珍藏》一书送与蔡千树先生(中国档案学档案事业类核心期刊《档案管理》杂志社主编、著名网络《档案界》版主)斧正留作纪念。蔡先生在高兴之余告诉我,全国档案局馆长会议即将在济南召开,国家档案局有一个会议通知精神:让各个省档案局馆上报2009年工作的

to right: Ms. Shi Shuyun, Mr. Ian Wilson, and Chinese Ambassador Mei Ping) 议我把《加拿大国家档案图书馆珍藏》在中国出版发行一事作为“闪光点”报送。随后,我征求河南省档案局技术处处长谢建波先生意见,他表示赞同蔡先生建议,增加了我的信心。最后我又征求河南省档案局主要领导同志意见,大家对此事没有异议。在河南省档案局局长王国振同志的鼓励下,我分别将书寄给令计划和杨冬权同志留作纪念。
《加拿大国家图书档案馆珍藏》这部书,是加拿大国家图书档案馆的专家和学者1992年为迎接第十二届国际档案代表大会在加拿大召开特意编撰的。它以真实的文字记录、珍贵的图片、详实的数据、图文并茂的完美结合,较为详细地介绍了加拿大历史的演变与发展的过程。书中记述的内容,是加拿大国家和人民的宝贵财富,也是世界人类文化遗产中的重要组成部分。
加拿大国家档案图书馆馆长伊恩·威尔森先生,于2004-2005年邀请我到访问加拿大。2004年9月28日,我以访问学者联谊会渥太华分会会长的身份出席中华人民共和国驻加拿大使馆在渥太华举行建国55周年招待会。Ian E. Wilson先生应邀出席,受到梅平大使和教育参赞师淑云女士的热情欢迎。在招待会上,我受梅平大使和教育参赞师淑云女士的委托,向Ian E. Wilson先生赠送《中国京剧》、《中国文化》等中国书籍和声像文化资料。事后,Ian E. Wilson 馆长向我回赠了有他亲笔题字和签名《加拿大家档案馆珍藏》一书。
我首先向Ian·E·Wilson先生提出在中国翻译和出版该书的意向。经过加拿大国家图书档案馆保存保护中心主任皮埃尔·嘎玛席先生、加拿大国家图书档案馆Blais Gabrielle女士、Claire Rochon女士等官员的衷心支持,和中华人民共和国驻加拿大大使馆教育参赞师淑云女士、文化参赞杨学伦先生、资深外交官吴淑洁女士的鼎力相助,版权问题获得圆满解决。
河南省图书馆王爱功馆长从2007年就开始筹划与努力,对促成《加拿大国家图书档案馆珍藏》在中国的出版起到了至关重要的作用。现任中华人民共和国驻联合国教科文组织大使衔代表师淑云女士为该书的中译本作序。加

2009年9月,在河南省图书馆成立百年的时候,《加拿大国家档案图书馆珍藏》作为河南省图书馆百年庆典的系列丛书,在中国公开出版发行。它不仅填补了多项国内国际空白,也为国际档案界在学术交流与合作方面开辟了先河,树立了典范。《加拿大国家档案图书馆珍藏》一书系A4版本,370余页,有200余张彩色插图,是作为珍藏版档案图书资料出版。该书采用高品质轻质纸张,全彩色印刷,设计精美,价格不菲,数量有限,被全国图书馆档案馆收藏,各大书店均无可售。

On Feb. 9, 2010 when Chinese New Year was coming Mr. Yang Dongquan, Curator of China Archive Bureau called Mr. Jing Weidong, translator of Treasures of the National Librarian Archives of Canada to deliver his festival compliments. Mr. Jing Weidong is a research fellow in Henan Archive Bureau and member of the Association for Canadian Studies in China. After publishing his translation last year, he sent a copy respectively to Mr. Yang Dongquan and Mr. Ling Jihua, member, secretariat and Director of Office of CCP Central Committee who Mr Jing Weidong, joinhed by Ms. Wu Shujie from is in charge of national archives work. Chineses Embassy in Ottawa, signed copyeright agreement On behalf of Mr. Ling Jihua and with Publication Adminstration of Canada himself, Mr. Yang Doquan thanked Jing Weidong on the phone and spoke highly of the book.
The book was compiled by experts and scholars from Library and Archives of Canada in 1992 to welcome the 12th International Archives Conference held in Canada. With accurate words, precious pictures and detailed data it introduces the Canada’s historical evolution and development, and is the valuable wealth of Canadian people as well as important proportion of human cultural heritage in the world. 
Mr. Ian E. Wilson, Curator of Library and Archives of Canada (LAC) invited Mr. Jing Weidong to visit Canada in 2004-2005. On Sept. 28, 2005 Mr. Jing attended a reception given by Chinese Embassy in Ottawa to celebrate the 55th anniversary of founding of the P. R. China where Mr. Ian E. Wilson was present and welcomed by Mr. Mei Ping, Chinese Ambassador to Canada, and Ms. Shi Shuyun, Cultural Counsellor of the Embassy. Entrusted by them Mr. Jing Weidong presented to Mr. Ian E.

in English from Mr.Jing Weidong(right) Chinese Culture and other books including audio-visual items. After the event Mr. Ian E. Wilson presented in return to Mr. Jing Weidong Treasures of the National Librarian Archives of Canada with his inscription and signature.
Mr. Jing Weidong expressed to Mr. Ian E. Wilson his intention to translate the book into Chinese. With the help of Officials from LAC and Chinese Embassy in Ottawa, Mr. Jing Weidong signed an agreement with LAC on copyright of the boo k’s Chinese edition.
Beginning to plan and prepare for the Chinese edition in 2007 Mr. Wang Aigong, Curator of Henan Provincial Library, played a very important role in its publication. Ms. Shi Shuyun, now representative of P. R. China to UNESCO prefaced the book. On July, 2009 Mr. Patrice Cousineau, Counsellor of Public Affairs and Culture Section, Canadian Embassy in Beijing received Mr. Wang Aigong, Mr. Jing Weidong and Ms. Zhang Mei, co-translator of the book.

Mr. Patrice Cousineau receiving Mr. Wang Aigong, Mr. Jing than 200 color illustrations the Weidong and Ms. Zhangmeifang at Canadian Embassy in Beijing book was published in September, 2009 among the series celebrating the 100th anniversary of establishment of Henan Provincial Library. Printed in high-grade paper and finely designed as rare edition the, book has been collected by National Book Archives of China.
